Modern Terminals Funds HK$1 Million Facility At Cotton Spinners Association Secondary School For Student Development

A ceremony was held today at Cotton Spinners Association Secondary School to mark the official opening of a facility dedicated to students’ development. This HK$1 million facility, funded by Modern Terminals, is made a home-like environment for experiential learning activities to be conducted for 300 head count of students per annum. It is aimed to enhance the students’ self care ability as well as inter-personal interaction skills.

Both Modern Terminals and the School have been operating in Kwai Tsing community since 1970s and have become partners since 2011 through participation in Project WeCan, a 6-year programme recently launched by The Wharf (Holdings) Limited. This facility forms a significant part of Modern Terminals’ total investment of HK$15 million in assisting the School in uplifting its overall performance.

Mr. K.T. Lee, Managing Director – Hong Kong of Modern Terminals, said at the opening ceremony, “It has been Modern Terminals’ commitment to contribute to the well-being of the community where we live and work. This colourful home-like facility is a tangible manifestation of our care for the students who are the future of our community. Through partnering with Cotton Spinners Association Secondary School, we are also investing in sustainable development of our community.”

Principal Lau Kit Sim of Cotton Spinners Association Secondary School remarked, “Our entire school is thankful for having Modern Terminals as our corporate partner in Project WeCan. We hope to leverage on Modern Terminals’ financial and volunteering support to enhance the learning environment and exposure opportunities for our students to fully tap their potential.”
